Squash can be eaten in many different ways. It can be roasted, baked, mashed, or even made into soup. One of the most popular ways to eat squash is to stuff it. Once you’ve cut it in half and scooped out the seeds, you can stuff it with rice, meat, and vegetables. Then bake it until tender. Yum!
Butternut squash is a favourite this time of year and tastes similar to sweet potatoes with a sweet, nutty flavor. The more orange the colour, the riper, drier, and sweeter the squash. Butternut is a common squash used in making soup because it tends not to be stringy.

So next time you visit our fruit and vegetable stand, make sure to pick up some squash and give it a try. You might just find yourself adding it to your list of favourite vegetables!
