Strawberry jam on pancakes is a deliciously sweet way to start the day, but they also make a popular after-dinner desert. They’re easy to make just spread strawberry jam on your favourite type of pancake. If you opt for one of those fluffy, thick buttermilk pancakes, the strawberry jam will melt into it and make an extra-tasty treat. Or, if you’re feeling adventurous, drizzle some melted strawberry jam onto a thin crepe-style pancake. No matter what style you choose, strawberry jam is sure to add extra sweetness to your treat.
Strawberry Jam Thumbprint Cookies
These classic cookies use ingredients you most likely already have in your pantry: butter, sugar, flour, eggs, and salt. All you need to do is mix the dry ingredients; then add butter, eggs and vanilla extract until it forms a dough. Once the dough is ready, roll into small balls and place on a baking sheet. Make an indentation with your thumb in each cookie before adding strawberry jam. Bake for 8-10 minutes at 375°F and voila—your delicious cookies are ready to enjoy!
Strawberry Jam Streusel Bars
These bars combine two delicious layers into one delectable treat. Start by preheating your oven to 350°F while mixing 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour with 1/3 cup granulated sugar, 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon and 1/8 teaspoon nutmeg in one bowl; then combine 1 stick (1/2 cup) melted butter with 2 tablespoons cold water in another bowl before stirring together both mixtures until they form large crumbs. Press 2/3rds of this mixture into an 8×8 inch baking pan before spreading 1/2 cup strawberry jam over top (you can also use other jams here such as blueberry or raspberry). Sprinkle remaining crumb mixture over top of jam layer before baking for 25-30 minutes or until light golden brown on top. Allow bars to cool completely before slicing and serving.
